Lionel Messi is the ‘Best Player Ever’ Says Guardiola
Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has heaped lavish praise on star striker Lionel Messi by declaring the Argentine the ‘best football player ever’.
Messi was voted man-of-the-match during Barcelona’s emphatic demolition of Manchester United during Saturday’s UEFA Champions League Final at Wembley.
The pint-sized wizard scored the important second goal of the match having seized on Andres Iniesta’s pass before running at goal and lashing home a venomous left-footed strike beyond a despairing Edwin Van der Sar.
The goal was ‘Leo’s’ 53rd strike of the season and incidentally, his 100th goal in two seasons at the Camp Nou. In the wake of his sides fourth European Cup triumph, Barca manager Pep Guardiola has labelled the Argentine as beyond phenomenal, even going as far as claiming the 2011 Ballon D’or winner is the best player in the history of world football!
“Lionel is the best player I’ve ever seen, probably the best ever,” an awestruck Guardiola told The Sun.
“He made the difference. Messi is unique, a one-off. I just hope he doesn’t get fed up. When he doesn’t play well it is because something is wrong with his environment. Let’s hope he can continue playing well,” the 40 year-old added.
We at In The Stands are no longer able to find superlatives to adequately describe ‘the Flea’ who time-after-time continues to bedazzle and paralyse us with his sheer brilliance.
The words, ‘your too good’ cannot do justice to a man, who at just 23 years of age is already up there with the games greatest ever superstars.
In respect to Leo, the boys at In The Stands have compiled five Messi strikes which bring us to our knees. Enjoy!
