Remember this? In February 2007 Spanish star Andres Iniesta scored his first ever goal for Spain as they beat England 1-0 in a tight match at Old Trafford.
The goal was Andres Iniesta’s first ever strike for La Roja Furia but of course would not be his last nor his most famous.
Iniesta’s angled drive in the 63rd minute and sealed a well deserved 1-0 for the visitors and heaped even more pressure on beleaguered boss Steve McLaren.
Spain would then go on to win Euro 2008 one year later whilst England watched the tournament on their couches.
As England host the current European and World champions for the first time on English soil in 4 years Fabio Capello’s men will be keen not to repeat that feat which, should it occur, will lead to the bi-monthly excoriating indictment of the Three Lions.
