Wantaway Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero has joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid for an estimated £38million.

Roberto Mancini

With the departure of Carlos Tevez not yet set in stone, should Roberto Mancini’s top summer transfer target has now been snapped up bit of course, it will be another class striker in the Citizens roster and another potential headache for the Italian boss.

So that’s Sergio Aguero, a temperamental but ultimately talented Mario Balotelli, a hungry Edin Dzeko and of course the enigma-inducing Carlos Tevez. Just where will they all fit in Roberto?

It is a headache besetting City’s commander in chief and we for one can only struggle to advise the former Inter Milan boss. What are his options?

Does he consign a badly unsettled Carlos Tevez to the subs bench after the Argentine’s very public departure plea.

At times bordering on saccharine to a tad disheartening, the face of Manchester has expressed his desire to spend more time with his wife and children and if that means quitting Eastlands than nothing will stop City’s top scorer.

The latter point must be stressed. Tevez was City’s leading goalscorer last time out and complements City’s style of play well.

Carlos Tevez

Big goals in big matches against the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal in recent years have proven Carlos’ wealth to the FA Cup holders, but amidst his desire to quit, should he be given a stint on the bench as punishment.

And then there is Mario Balotelli. Were to begin? Yes, he is a little, well…mad, yes he deserves a slap for his often petulant actions, but be honest, the boy has got some serious talent.

To omit him from the first XI will, firstly, rile him up more towards doing something more bizarre (like throwing darts at youth team players), and secondly, upset the team, or dressing room spirit. What ‘Super Mario’ thinks ‘Super Mario’ says and he himself knows he has much convincing to do and will thus demand a place in the premier XI.

And then there is Edin Dzeko. Roberto Mancini’s big money signing from German outfit VfL Wolfsburg has yet to justify the enormous fee splashed out for him and so will be demanding more first team opportunities.

Strong on the ball and seemingly powerful in the air as well as being decent with his feet, Dzeko is highly-rated, and at his best also suits City’s style of play well.

The big Bosnian has already dislodged Emmanuel Adebayor in the pecking order but can he really force himself ahead of Carlos Tevez (if he stays), Mario Balotelli and freshly faced Sergio Aguero?

Sergio Aguero - Manchester City

And so that leaves Sergio Aguero. Little needs to be said about Diego Maradona’s son-in-law. We have seen him at his best, seen him terrorize defences and of course come to appreciate his obvious talent.

However, Aguero is lightweight, does not score enough goals and question marks arise as to whether or not he can actually hack the physical approach concomitant to the English Premier League.

So who does Mr Mancini start? Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko or (potential new signing) Sergio Aguero? Who knows, maybe the Premier League might actually witness a ‘magical foursome’ hitherto unseen since its formation? Time will tell.
