Manchester City are ready to wade into the transfer market for the first time this summer by targeting a trio of players in a bid to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
That didn’t take long eh! On the back of a great season, City boss Roberto Mancini is ready to splash-the-cash as he lines up a triple-signing combo.
The Eastlands coach is firstly targeting highly-rated 23-year-old Fiorentina midfielder Alessio Cerci as reported by The Sun. Mancini is said to be a big admirer of Italian Cerci – whose wing play could prove fruitful for the FA Cup holders.
Mancini is also pinpointing Partizan Belgrade defender Stefan Savic with the Montenegro international thought to be valued at £7 million.
Last on the trinity list is the Argentinian number 1 goalkeeper Sergio Romero. Romero currently plays for former Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar, however, the 24-year-old will relish the opportunity to move to the Premier League and may even threaten to dislodge current City number 1 Joe Hart between the sticks.
The Sun also report that Mancini is pinning his trust on two close agents (Sergio Berti, who represents Cerci and Savic, and Mino Raiola, who looks after Romero) as the Italian seeks to pull off a triple-transfer swoop.
