Barcelona Set to Launch Improved £31m Bid For Fabregas
Barcelona are set to make an improved bid of £31 million for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas as the Catalans up the ante in their quest to land the midfielder.
The European champions will test Arsenal’s resolve once again with a bid of £31 million for captain Cesc Fabregas who Barca coach Pep Guardiola has identified as a top summer target.
The Catalan giants have already had one offer of £27 million recently turned down as Arsenal refuse to budge from their £45 million valuation of their prized asset.
Nevertheless, with the Gunners number 4 still yet to clearly decide his future, it is thought that a compromise somewhere in the region of £31 – £35 million can be reached which will of course see the Spaniard return back to his spiritual home.
Much depends on the situation concerning attacking midfielder Samir Nasri who is the subject of much of the back page speculation with Arsenal’s eternal rivals Manchester United set to launch an official £20 million bid for the Frenchman.
Gunners coach Arsene Wenger has already pinpointed Valencia winger Juan Mata and highly-rated attacker Ricardo Alvarez as possible replacements should Fabregas and Nasri leave the Emirates Stadium, and the normally stubborn French coach will be desperate to wade off both Barcelona and Manchester United as he seeks to keep his star players.
Wenger is also seeking to add two centre backs to the Gunners squad with Blackburn’s Christopher Samba and Bolton’s Gary Cahill, along with Everton’s Phil Jagielka being identified as possible targets.
