Arsenal Set to Sign Gervinho From Lille

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Lille forward Gervinho for £10.6million after negotiations passed a crucial stage.

Gervinho has been in London and having agreed personal terms with the Gunners with the Ivorian is ready to put pen to paper on a four-year contract.

When completed, Gervinho will become Arsenal’s premier signing of the summer with a restructuring process set to be implemented at the Emirates Stadium this summer in light of the club’s six-year trophy drought.

A disappointed Lille manager Frederic Paquet revealed earlier this week that talks between Gervinho and Arsenal were in their advanced stages with the newly crowned French champions having already sold midfielder Yohan Cabaye to Newcastle for £4.3million.

Gervinho scored 15 goals in 35 matches this season and contributed 10 assists as Lille secured a League and French Cup double. The 24 year-old also briefly featured for the Ivory Coast during last summer’s World Cup.
