AC Milan produced a stirring comeback to beat Udinese 2-1 thanks to late goals by Maxi Lopez and highly rated youngster Stephan El Shaarawy.
The prolific Antonio Di Natale had given Udinese the lead in the 19th minute when he looped the ball over Marco Amelia and into the net.
The hosts then spurned numerous chances but appeared content to hang on to their slender 1-0 lead however, the tactic backfired when new Milan signing Maxi Lopez tapped home in the 77th minute after goalkeeper Samir Handanovic spilled El Shaarawy’s shot.
Five minutes from the end El Shaarawy won it for the Italian champions when he fired in a rasping shot from the near post to send the Rossoneri top of Serie A on 47 points – two ahead of Juventus albeit having played a couple of games more.
