AC Milan moved to the top of Serie A ahead of the winter break after a 2-0 win over Cagliari on Tuesday night.
An own goal by Cagliari defender Francesco Pisano and a second half strike by Zlatan Ibrahimovic proved enough for Massimiliano Allegri’s men to secure victory against his former club and continue their Serie A resurgence.
The win puts the champions on 34 points, one ahead of second placed Juventus who face Udinese at the Stadio Friuli on Wednesday.
