A late strike by Alessandro Matri gave ten-men Juventus a 1-1 draw against AC Milan at the San Siro to preserve their unbeaten run and remain just one point behind in the race for the Scudetto
In a tight, yet enthralling contest pitting Serie A’s two finest teams, it was hosts Milan who took the lead in the 15th minute when a poor pass from Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci was seized upon by Sulley Muntari.
The Ghanaian ace then fed the on-rushing Antonio Nocerino whose rasping drive beat Gianluigi Buffon with the help of a deflection.
The hosts however failed to capitalize on their slender advantage as Juventus rallied after the break and grabbed a deserved equaliser seven minutes from time when Alessandro Matri swept in Pepe’s teasing cross.
Arturo Vidal was then sent off for a lunge on Mark Van Bommel but Antonio Conte’s men held out for a 1-1 draw to preserve their unbeaten run this season and remain just one point behind their great rivals with a game in hand to boot.
Elsewhere, the pressure on Claudio Ranieri to resign grew as an uninspiring Inter Milan side were beaten 1-0 by Napoli at the San Paolo leaving the Nerazzurri seventh in the table, 9 points off the third UEFA Champions League spot.
