In what could be one of the season’s most anticipated matches of the so far, City fans everywhere have been given the chance to play their part in Churchillian-esque manner.
Hmmmm…no City fans here, but if we were this is what we would say…
Vincent Kompany To Fellow City Players:
“Fellow Manchester City team-mates…In October of last year something happened to us. Amidst the doubt, fear, lack of certainty. Amidst the feeling of haplessness and the lack of substantial silverware pertaining this great club, we did something extraordinary.
“We cut, we tore, we chewed, we devoured, and then we spat those pieces of scum just 2 miles down the road. 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 could be heard from Brussels to the Congo.
“We made the transition from noisy neighbours into fully-fledged occupants from hell! So my question to you guys is why stop now? Why shorten our welcome?
“With the advent of Super Mario upfront, I trust in our ability to remain top dogs in this city and grab victory today in front of our Blue army.
“For that is our aim. One word: VICTORY! Victory at all costs – victory in spite of all terrors – victory, however long and hard the road may be, for just like last season’s FA semi-final we shall move forward towards our goals.
“We will fight Fergie’s men in the beaches, we will fight them in the city centre. We shall fight them in the air, we shall fight them in their own lair – we shall NEVER surrender.
“Never in the field of this city’s conflict was so much owed by so few to so many. I myself have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat. What about yourselves?
“Let us ensure that come 12.45PM today Roberto (Mancini) will turn to us and smile like a proud Italian whilst ushering those most famous words by Winston Churchill; ‘this was their finest hour!”
“Now COME ONNNNNNNNNN Lets kick some United Ass!!!“
