Dinamo Zagreb defender Domagoj Vida has been caught on video winking at Bafetimbi Gomis during Olympique Lyonnais’ 7-1 UEFA Champions League win at the Stadion Maksimir fueling claims of match-fixing.
The video comes not long after it was revealed that the French regulatory authority for online games, ARJEL, have already opened an investigation into Olympique Lyons’ 7-1 Champions League Group D win over Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night.
With Ajax losing 3-0 at home to Real Madrid, Lyon came from 1-1 at half-time to smash home six goals in the final 45 minutes and eventually run out 7-1 winners thus securing their place in the last 16.
It was the hosts Dinamo Zagreb’s 50-minute collapse which has sparked outrage in the Dutch capital and arose suspicion in France, more so now that Dinamo Zagreb defender Domagoj Vida has been caught on video winking at four-goal Lyon hero Bafetimbi Gomis.
An ARJEL spokesman confirmed that investigations are pending after the result whilst the Zagreb board have moved quickly and sacked coach Krunoslav Jurcic with immediate effect following the horrific defeat.
So with video of the ‘winker’ Domagoj Vida now open to the public, was Dinamo Zagreb’s second half collapse premeditated or not? Have you say below with In The Stands
