Sagna Urges Fabregas to Leave Arsenal
Fabregas has been constantly linked with a move back to Catalunya to join his boyhood club and European champions Barcelona who have made no secret of their desire to sign the Spaniard.
Reflecting on the on-going transfer saga, French fullback Bacary Sagna is of the opinion that the Gunners captain is desperate to move to the Camp Nou and be reunited with his family in his home town as the Catalan giants prepare to launch a £35million summer raid.
“Compared to last year, yes it’s true there are chances of him leaving. Cesc needs to return to his country, to his home to rejoin his family,” he was quoted as saying by the Sun.
“He needs to play for one of the best teams in the world which is Barcelona. One can understand that. But for the moment he’s still our captain at Arsenal,” he added.
Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Lee Dixon believes that Fabregas’ mind has already been made up and consequentially, the 24 year-old is no longer fit to hold the Gunners arm-band.
“I think maybe Fabregas’ head is not there anymore at Arsenal,” Dixon told Goal.com. “I think the captaincy was given to him for a reason – not the right reason – I don’t think he’s a good captain. Maybe this summer might be the summer that he leaves,” he ended.
A largely mute Fabregas has joined friends Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol on holiday in Ibiza as he ponders his future in England.
