The long awaited Premier League return is in jeopardy after the recent spate of riots most notably in the capital and in other major cities.

16,000 police officers are currently situated on the streets of London leaving not enough officers to patrol football matches across the land.
Several midweek Carling Cup fixtures were already cancelled, including matches involving West Ham, Charlton and Crystal Palace. Tuesday also saw England’s eagerly anticipated friendly clash against the Netherlands at Wembley cancelled.
Even a potentially fantastic all-African clash between enemies Ghana and Nigeria at Vicarage Road had to be cancelled on the orders of Hertfordshire Police.
Now all eyes turn to Saturday when the Premier League season is set for kick-off amidst smoldering buildings and smashed windows – the remnants of mass protests/riots occurring within the UKs major cities.
Games most at risk include:
Tottenham vs Everton, Saturday, 13, August
Queens Park Rangers v Bolton, Saturday, 13, August
Fulham v Aston Villa, Saturday, 13, August
Manchester City vs Swansea City, Monday, 15, August
Sigh…you wait all summer for football and then this!!! Aaarrgghhh…
