Our Season on Football Manager 12 – Who Shall I Manager?
An Idea we had for this year is one that involves playing the new Football Manager 12 at the current Premier League pace. Frustratingly, this means that we will have to start our game three months in advance! But that’s not our biggest problem because we really need your help in picking a Premier League team to manage…
First of all I don’t want to pick a team that bores me – essentially, this rules out Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool and one end of the spectrum. At the other end oI’m in no mood to manage a penniless Everton, a dull Fulham/ West Brom, a team full of knobheads in QPR, an Elmanderless Bolton an uninspiring Swansea, Deilia’s Norwich, Stoke (for obvious reasons), a rugby side called Wigan and Newcastle (because I’m always Newcastle on this game). That leaves these five candidates…
Arsenal
Why I want to manage Arsenal: They have a Wonderful squad with Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Szeschnzezesheyzeshy standing out above the rest.
What I want to achieve: Title contenders. And why not, Arsenal are a few players short of a quality team and I have a few rabbits in the hat.
Sunderland
Why I want to manage Sunderland: At the core, Sunderland have a decent team and with the ‘Worlds best player’ in on loan – the possibilities are endless.
What I want to achieve: Continental qualification through Europe. If I can tighten up the defence (sell Bramble) and get Bendtner and Wickham firing on all cylinders then I’ve got a fighting chance.
Wolves
Why I want to manage Wolves: With the arrival of Roger Johnson and the permanent signing of Jamie O’Hara, Wolves are more solid as a unit this year. However, they still have a bench full of average players that need transfer listing – which will be fun.
What I want to achieve: A mid-table/ top half finish. Wolves could easily be a top ten side with the right care and attention.
Aston Villa
Why I want to manage Aston Villa: They have some decent players in D. Bent, Given and N’Zogbia to start and they have some money in the kitty to bring in a few more.
What I want to achieve: Continental qualification through Europe. They are a good enough side, with a striker who scores goals. This task wouldn’t be too much hassle. I hope!
Blackburn
Why I want to manage Blackburn: I honestly believe Blackburn have a good side. Formica, Hoilett, Rochina, Dann, Robinson, Pedersen, Samba…they are all useful players. Blackburn also have a Hefty chicken fund to dig into – so that’s an exciting incentive.
What I want to achieve: Mid-table finish. I plan on bringing in quite a few players, which would mean that they would need time to bed in. Realistically a mid-table is most feasible.
So..now it’s time to vote – please name the team in the discus box below.
