Newcastle striker Nile Ranger’s future is once again in jeopardy as club officials are set to discuss his future after Ranger was arrested for being drunk and disorderly in October.

“The press are a joke” so said a seemingly whiter-than-white Nile Ranger on his official twitter page @NilePowerRanger; let it be added without a hint of irony.

Even my three-year-old niece denies any wrong doing when her mouth is caked in biscuit crumbs after specifically being told not to go into the cookie jar.

The classic; “its their fault not mine” line which the Nazis used to deflect blame from themselves when standing in the docks at Nuremberg fools nobody.

Better simplify the language I suppose. Nile Ranger is a disgrace to football. Just how a young professional could throw his career (whatever one he had that is) into jeopardy like this never ceases to amaze.

Last month the striker, aged 20, was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and will rightly face magistrates on November 17. This on top of being arrested three times in three months and suddenly Ranger’s future with the Toon has been thrown into doubt as club owner Mike Ashley and managing director Derek Llambias are set to decide his fate.

Nile Ranger Gives Footballers A Bad Name

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp was right. It is precisely because of people like Nile Ranger that footballers – especially young ones who earn stack loads of money at a pithy age – have an increasingly bad reputation.

Ranger jauntily claims that “naturally only a few people want to see you lift and fly places,” as if the man who labels himself as ‘Da Realist’ is some kind of saintly victim in all of this! Say no more.

Going into the exact nature of the charges (including the three charges in three months) is a moot point; just Google them for yourselves. What really strikes accord is the sheer arrogance of a player who is only known for his misdemeanor’s rather than his actual footballing ability.

Is Nile Ranger Actually Any Good Anyway?!

Of course question marks about what actual footballing ability he possesses must be asked? This is of course a striker who has scored an almighty TWO goals in 49 appearances for Newcastle even when the team were languishing in the Championship.

That is a record worse than the goal machine Emile Heskey and even that fantasy player called ‘Castello’ in the old ISS Pro Evolution Soccer games on the Playstation 2.

What exactly is there to be surprised about sure poses a few questions in itself. After all this is the same Nile Ranger whose ‘career’ was almost over before it began as he was sentenced to 11 weeks in a Young Offender’s Institute for his part in an armed street robbery in Muswell Hill in 2008 whilst playing for Southampton.

Nile Ranger Poses With a Gun

There followed the arcane photos of Ranger ‘the gangsta’ posing with a silver gun along with preened up snaps of his gas guzzling white Range Rover.

Of course everything is about image, fame, personality as well as ego, but hey, as a great philosopher once insinuated, ‘reality’ is subjective.

If in your little mind you think you are a superstar and the best thing since Pele, I suppose you will act like that despite the fact that the rest of the world can see the painful delusion and glamour enslaving you!

Young footballers who have had much tougher backgrounds compared to little old Nile Ranger will never stoop to the level of showmanship and lack of respect for a game which, in all cases, has given them the ability to live a life which will otherwise have been impossible.

Will you ever see the likes of Robinho, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Wayne Rooney and Nigel De Jong – all from very poor backgrounds ever posing as if they were Al Capone like North London born Nile Ranger does?

A humble man is a great man and that is what separates people like Ranger from truly great 20-something-year-olds such as Lionel Messi, Mario Gotze, Javier Hernandez, Neymar (19) and Cesc Fabregas.

It is often said that the emptiest barrels make the most noise. Well, Ranger makes a lot of noise on his official twitter page. Those clichéd one-liners that you would find on page 4 of the Encyclopedia of quotes.

What are they again; ah that’s it…’Expect Anything From Anyone…The Devil Was Once An Angel,’ he writes. ‘You miss with every shot you don’t take,’ (which doesn’t make sense) and my personal favourite; ‘Real life is like Halloween its trick or treat!’ YAWN!

How about this one Ranger; when little people achieve a modicum of success, it is like Hades believing that the underworld is greater than Mount Olympus.

Newcastle Must Sack Nile Ranger

Newcastle fans, owners and staff, please do the right thing and sack/disassociate yourself from this mercenary who can only denigrate the club name and has shown himself to be just another arrogant young player who thinks that he is ‘Big Meech’ before realizing that he was anything but.

I give it 2 years before a Nile Ranger Wikipedia is no more. He is an arrogant, violent, angry, gassed up egotistical, petulant and spoilt waste of space and talent (whatever amount he had that is).
