Police were forced to step in and separate both Manchester United and Liverpool players at half-time after Patrice Evra confronted Luis Suarez in the tunnel.

Suarez refused to shake Evra’s hand prior to kick-off as tension between the pair continue to simmer in the wake of Suarez’s eight-match ban after racially abusing the French defender.
Just before the half-time whistle Suarez attempted to run through on goal but was felled by Rio Ferdinand’s tackle with referee Phil Dowd deeming the challenge legal.
A furious Luis Suarez then lambasted the decision before booting the ball direct at the dugout as the half-time whistle sounded.
After the whistle Suarez was quickly followed down the tunnel by Patrice Evra who reportedly confronted him just as the two sides reached their respective dressing rooms.
Evra then attempted to square up to Suarez but Martin Skrtel blocked his path thus sparking a melee as United and Liverpool players pushed and shoved each other with police taking up to five minutes to restore order and calm.
Manchester United went on to win the match 2-1 thanks to a brace by Wayne Rooney to go top of the Premier League albeit having played a game more than second place Manchester City.
