Lionel Messi: ‘I am Staying at Barcelona For Life’
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has committed his future with the Catalan giants by insisting that he will never ever leave Barcelona for another European club.
The Argentine also suggested that he will also seek to end his playing days back in his homeland before he finally hangs up his football boots.
The two-time World Player of the Year once again blew Europe away as he ended the season by bagging his fifth La Liga title, in addition to his third Champions League crown as Pep Guardiola’s men blew away the competition on their way to the double.
Messi has an extraordinary £268 million buy-out-clause, but despite being linked to Manchester City and Real Madrid in recent weeks, ‘the Flea’ has committed his top-flight career with his boyhood club before one day returning back to Argentina.
“If I leave Barcelona, it will be to return to Argentina and retire,” he was quoted as saying.
“I do not intend to go somewhere else. I am happy in Barcelona, I’m fine and if I end it will be to come to Argentina,” he added.
