Miroslav Klose scored an injury-time winner as Lazio came from behind to win 2-1 in Sunday’s thrilling Rome derby.
Playing as the ‘home’ team, Lazio started the better of the two sides and were unfortunate to go behind when Roma forward Pablo Osvaldo ghosted inside the box to slot the ball past Marchetti in the fifth minute.
Unperturbed, the hosts rallied after the break and were awarded a penalty in the 51st minute when Simon Kjaer was adjudged to have fouled Christian Brocchi when through on goal.
Referee Paolo Tagliavento had no remorse and swiftly showed the Danish defender a straight red card. Hernanes duly dispatched the spot-kick before Miroslav Klose grabbed the winner at the death when the German striker slipped the ball past Stekelenburg as the Biancocelesti ended a run of four straight defeat to the city rivals.
The win puts Edoardo Reja’s men fourth in Serie A on 11 points, one behind joint leaders Juventus and Udinese whilst Roma stay in 12th place on 8 points.
