The Full England squad to face Spain and then Sweden in a testing double dose of international friendlies was announced by Fabio Capello with some surprises in store:

Notable absentees include out of favour Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand who just this week was told by Sir Alex Ferguson that his first team spot at Old Trafford was far from certain.
Red Devils striker Wayne Rooney has also been left out with Three Lions coach Fabio Capello hoping to experiment without ‘Wazza’ who is set to miss the first three games of England’s Euro 2012 campaign.
Manchester City defender Micah Richards also misses out in what was perhaps a surprise exclusion.
The full squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers:
Scott Carson – Bursaspor
Joe Hart – Manchester City
David Stockdale – Ipswich Town
Defenders:
Leighton Baines – Everton
Gary Cahill – Bolton
Ashley Cole – Chelsea
Phil Jagielka – Everton
Glen Johnson – Liverpool
Phil Jones – Manchester United
Joleon Lescott – Manchester City
John Terry – Chelsea
Kyle Walker – Tottenham
Midfielders:
Gareth Barry – Manchester City
Stewart Downing – Liverpool
Adam Johnson – Manchester City
Frank Lampard – Chelsea
James Milner – Manchester City
Scott Parker – Tottenham
Jack Rodwell – Everton
Theo Walcott – Arsenal
Strikers:
Gabriel Agbonlahor – Aston Villa

The right squad or woefully short of what is needed to topple Spain and Sweden respectively? Let In The Stands know what you think…
