Jose Mourinho has told Manchester United that their efforts to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo are futile.
Ronaldo made a triumphant return to English football on Sunday afternoon as he helped Real Madrid crush Championship side Bournemouth 6-0 helping himself to two goals in the process.
Despite new Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti insisting that the former World Player of The Year is not for sale, United have not given up in their hopes of bringing the 28-year-old back to Old Trafford.
However, speaking on the situation, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho last night told David Moyes he should forget about trying to entice Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United.
‘What I know is that Real Madrid is such a rich club that they don’t need to sell Cristiano,’ he told assembled journalists when quizzed on his views.
‘And they are such a rich club I think they can swallow up any offer another club can make for Ronaldo. I know Ronaldo loves Manchester United and I know he loves the Premier League but I think he is going to stay.
‘It’s just a feeling. I’ve had no contact with him, nothing. It’s just my feeling,’ he added.
