Exhibition Football at Camp Nou As Barcelona Beat Viktoria Plzen 2-0

Andres Iniesta and David Villa were both on the scoresheet as Champions League holders Barcelona put on a classy display to topple Viktoria Plzen 2-0 at the Camp Nou.

Incidentally, this was the first ever time the Spanish giants had won a Matchday 3 group game under coach Pep Guardiola having previously been thwarted by the likes of FC Basle, Rubin Kazan and FC Copenhagen.

The wait was well worth it nevertheless as La Blaugrana’s class and quality told despite only emerging with a two goal cushion.

In the other group match AC Milan overcame BATE Borisov 2-0 leaving Massimo Allegri’s men on 7 points, joint top of Group H with Barcelona. The pair are due to come face-to-face again on matchday 5 at the San Siro.
