Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has urged owner Roman Abramovich to be patient with him as he seeks to drag the Blues out of their slump.

The Blues crashed to a 2-1 defeat at home to rivals Liverpool in Sunday’s big match with further questions being asked about the future of beleaguered boss Andre Villas-Boas.
The defeat – Chelsea’s second successive Premier League defeat at Stamford Bridge – has left ‘AVB’s’ men fourth in the table, a mighty 12 points behind leaders Manchester City, and three points behind third placed Newcastle United.
With the pressure mounting, a wary Andre Villas-Boas has made a strong plea to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich not to cut his losses and drop the guillotine on yet another boss.
“The owner didn’t pay €15 million (£13m) to get me out of Porto to then pay another fortune to get me out of Chelsea,” he told the post-match press conference after the defeat.
“It is not a question of the owner. We have set out to build something new and the club is committed to taking what we are building to the future.
“Our commitment is to the club and what we are doing in the future. That is the commitment we have to take now.
“There is no running away from responsibilities. There is no calling this a year of transition. We are not calling for time to work. We are in four competitions and have possibilities in all four competitions,” he stressed.
Is that the smell of panic we sense?!
