A second half strike by Diego Milito gave Inter Milan victory over AC Milan in the Milan derby as Claudio Ranieri’s men continue their Serie A resurgence.

In a tight game, it was ‘hosts’ AC Milan who started the brighter of the two with Mark Van Bommel striking the Inter crossbar just before the break.
The winner when it came was virtue of a Milan mistake as fullback Ignazio Abate failed to clear Javier Zannetti’s cutback leaving Diego Milito to sweep home the winner in the 54th minute.
The win keeps Claudio Ranieri’s men fifth in the table on 32 points, three behind third place Udinese whilst AC Milan stay second, one point behind leaders Juventus who were held 1-1 at home to Cagliari.
