We at In The Stands could not resist a chuckle at what is perhaps the most outrageous piece of football commentary ever from legendary Italian commentator Carlo Zampa.
Zampa’s moment of madness occurred after AS Roma fullback John Arne Riise scored Roma’s winner against Juventus during the rivals’ clash at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino in 2010.
Fair enough the winner came in stoppage time, it sealed the visitors’ first win in Turin in years, kept themselves firmly in the title race and led to the most unlikeliest of comebacks having been thoroughly dominated for much of the game, but still, Mr Zampa’s reaction was…well…wacky!!!
Check out his hilarious piece of oratory where we estimate he bellowed out ‘GOL’ approximately 19 times. Mind you, it was a great cross-come-header.
