West Ham 5 – 1 Burnley
By James Shaw
West Ham struck while the Iron was cold.
Opening the scoring a debutant German of old.
A trademark thunderbolt reminiscent of his villa days.
Fans in the stand celebrate, Avram Grant remains unphased.
Then, Cole bumbles a second. Clear handball! What a farce!
He makes up for it however, his second was true class.
Admittedly, The scoreline if flattering. Burnley had the upper hand.
But their shaky defense crumbled like a house built on sand.
on 59, Hitz split the defence for Winston Reid to head home.
At four-nil the Lancashire side have much to atone.
A consolation from Rodriguez, not enough to suffice.
It was a gift from Wayne Bridge, again, more naughty than nice.
With Burnley all but defeated, their fans begin to flock.
Thankfully missing Sears’ tidy finish, with 93 on the clock.
