The new Premier League fixture list has been released with the champions Manchester United set to begin their defence of their title away to West Bromwich Albion, whilst Arsenal travel to Newcastle.
The Gunners will be quick to recall memories of their disastrous 4-4 draw at St James Park last season where Arsene Wenger’s men dramatically threw away a four goal lead. The Gunners then host Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium before travelling to Old Trafford for an early potential title-showdown.
Champions Manchester United start at West Bromwich Albion before hosting both Tottenham and Arsenal, whilst FA Cup winners Manchester City take on newly promoted Swansea City at Eastlands.
Kenny Daglish’s Liverpool side begin with a home match against Sunderland, where all eyes will be on new £20million signing Jordan Henderson who is set to make a debut against his boyhood club.
Chelsea and Tottenham take on Stoke and Everton respectively with the Blues set to face-off against Manchester United as early as 17, September.
Tottenham Hotspur
Who they have bought: Sandro
Who they need: Spurs have a decent squad with depth, but a few players might be needed to strengthen things especially if they have a good Champions League run.

West Brom
Who they have bought: Steven Reid, Pablo Ibáñez, Boaz Myhill
Who they need: West Brom have a decent squad, but I don’t see a striker there capable of scoring 12 plus goals a season, nor do I see their midfielder’s stepping up to pitch in, although Brunt or Thomas may disagree with me.
Who they should buy: Rob Hulse, Araujo Ilan, James Beattie, Paul Scharner, Jason Koumas, Jimmy Bullard, Mohammed Tchite, Jason Roberts,

Arsenal
Who they have bought: Marouane Chamakh, Laurent Koscielny
Who they need: With Gallas gone an extra defender is a priority. A world class keeper would also help.
