Shame on you if you didn’t catch her debut last weekend, LadyArse returns with this weeks instalment…
It was a strange week for Arsenal fans. With no mid-week match, all we had to entertain ourselves with was the protracted transfer of Arsenal old boy Sol Campbell. In becoming Arsene’s first ever ‘re-signing,’ he also becomes only the fifth player in Arsenal’s history to resign for the club.
Opinion regarding his return is divided, but the fact is that Arsenal are desperately shallow in cover for our centre-halves, and if you ask most who they would prefer between Campbell and Silvestre, there is only one winner. In fact, should we never see Silvestre in an Arsenal shirt again many would be extremely delighted.
Just to balance out the signing of a 35 year old, Wenger thought it best that he signs another kid and that came in the form of 17-year-old wonder-kid Gallindo who will go straight out on loan so Arsenal fans will have to wait another season or two before seeing if he really is a wonder.
Here at In The Stands we are proud to announce that the brilliant LadyArse will be contributing to our site on a weekly basis. As you may have guessed she is an an Arsenal fan, but we will make allowances, as her work is well worth the read. So without further ado, here is the first instalment…
Welcome. What do you think of my new digs? I’m getting flash, having more than one home, but what can you do? Demand and supply and all that.
After a year and a half of writing the (mostly) daily LadyArse blog, to write a weekly round-up leaves me wondering how best to approach it.
It has been a strange week, what with the entire United Kingdom grinding to a halt under a little bit of snow. Matches fell faster than Steven Gerrard in the penalty box, and while most teams did whatever they could to try and get theirs going, all but two of Saturday & Sunday’s Premier League games were postponed.
