With all this ridiculous talk about diving (you know it’s not a new problem) here at In The Stands we spotted some footage that shows even a manager has started diving.

As you can see David Moyes says to the ref he dived following a tackle from Wigan’s Thomas but after facing a similar challenge from Mascherano Bolton’s Gary Megson still remains standing.

What should UEFA do about this? Well he’s clearly tried to con the referee and the ref didn’t take action, so lets ban him for two matches. Ridiculous…

I remember a few years back sitting at home watching this Champions League quarter-final between AC and Inter Milan (I was praying for someone to be knocked out on the away goals rule), but soon after AC took a 4-0 lead on aggregate the Inter fans threw hundreds of flares onto the field which truly had me amazed.

In England we rarely see anything flare or hooligan related any more in football. A couple of years ago a Man Utd fan threw a flare onto the pitch at St Mary’s (Southampton) and he was subsequently banned from attending United matches. That’s why this incident in Italy had me truly stunned.

Fans had carefully orchestrated this display with the intention of getting the match abandoned if it was not going in Inter’s favour. AC took a 3-0 lead from the first leg and it was when Inter fans realised the match was beyond them, pandemonium ensued.

This weeks ‘Did I Just See That?’ in case you didn’t catch it before, is Bordeaux’s Yoann Gourcuff scoring quite possibly the best goal of last year with an absolute screamer against Paris St-Germain.

Great feet to take it past one man, then again for another before drilling it bottom corner past the keeper. Truly stunning…

Andrés Vasquez scored this remarkable goal, a rabona kick from outside the penalty area, which is seen by most experts as a candidate for the best goal of the year in Sweden (07).

What a way to score your first goal for your club

Liverpool bench-warmer Andrea Dossena got cameo roles in the Merseyside club’s games against Real Madrid and Manchester United. He made the most of his game time chipping in with two goals, with the latter particularly special. He certainly shocked us all with these.
