Irishman Eamon Zayed scored an amazing five minute hat-trick as Perspolis came from 2-0 down to bag a sensational 3-2 win over Esteghlal in the Tehran derby.
‘Unbelievable’. ‘Sensational’. ‘Divine’. ‘Pre-destined’. These were just some of the back-page headlines running across Iranian newspapers as Perspolis won a fantastically contested Tehran derby away at their bitter rivals Esteghlal.
As the video shows, the away fans were already making their way home as the referee’s clock wound down.
Step forward Irishman Eamon Zayed who undid his top button, removed his shirt and displayed a very neat, yet large ‘Superman’ logo before taking matters firmly into his own hands as his five minute treble helped Perspolis overcome a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2.
Lionel Messi ain’t got s*** on him!

Video: Everton v Manchester City Fan Handcuffs Himself to Goal Post
A bizarre fan handcuffed himself to the goal post during Everton’s 1-0 win over Manchester City on Tuesday night thus stopping play for several minutes.
The protester the man was aiming his anger at low cost airline Ryanair’s recruitment policy after his daughter was denied a job by the airline.
The message on his T-shirt read: ‘Europe’s greatest training robbers. Ryanair. Lowest wages guaranteed. Stop. Recruitment scamming our children.’
Now, we at In The Stands are all for protesting but sometimes there is a time and a place. Still, at least he got his point across in what was a thrilling game.
Mahatma Gandhi will be proud!
Video: Worst Dive Ever: Ekanga Amia (Equatorial Guinea) vs Senegal
They say that play acting and feining injury has become rife in football and when videos like this emerge it is no wonder why. We at In The Stands can only shake our heads and laugh.
For the record his name is Narcisse Ekanga Amia, a 24-year-old Cameroonian-Equatoguinean midfielder who currently plays for TP Mazembe at club level and the Equatorial Guinea national side.
With acting like that he should be at the Oscars not on a football pitch.
Video: Liverpool Fan Making Monkey Gesture vs Manchester United
A Liverpool fan has been arrested after Merseyside police launched an investigation to identify a man who made monkey gestures during Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup 4th Round.
As the video above clearly shows, the Reds fan in the cream top with a cap is seen making monkey gestures at Manchester United players.
Having reviewed footage of the game, which was shown live on ITV on Saturday afternoon, Merseyside police have now detained the man in question.
A statement released by Liverpool football club on Sunday read:

Liverpool Reveal Suits For Cup Final At Wembley – Its White Armani Again!
Liverpool overcame Manchester City to reach the Carling Cup Final their first final at Wembley since the 1996 FA Cup Final and the club have already chosen what suit they will be wearing.

The Reds last played at the home of English football in 1996 when they took on mortal enemies Manchester United in the 1996 FA Cup final.
In one of the drabbest FA Cup finals ever, the occasion was remembered mainly for them ludicrously extravagant white Armani suits which Liverpool wore prior to kick-off.
It was a real nation eyebrow-raiser, with football fans the world over not knowing whether to laugh or cry as the Merseyside club firmly established themselves as the club of pin-ups and unnecessary glamour; better put, the ‘spice boys’.

Having now returned to the New Wembley some 16 years later to face Cardiff City in the Carling Cup final, rumours are currently circulating that boss Kenny Dalglish is ready to wheel out the white Armani suits again!
FA Charge Mario Balotelli With Violent Conduct After Stamp On Scott Parker: Video
The FA have charged Mario Balotelli with violent conduct after he appeared to stamp on Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker during Manchester City’s 3-2 win over Spurs at the Etihad Stadium.
The pair came together in the second half with the combative Scott Parker diving in to block Balotelli’s shot.
As the Italian striker swivelled to restore his balance, he seemingly stamped out on Parker with his trailing right leg although referee Howard Webb, who had a close up view of the incident, let play continue.
Balotelli then went on to score the winning penalty in injury-time as City grabbed a priceless 3-2 win to preserve their three point lead at the top of the table.
Afterwards, a furious Harry Redknapp slammed the City forward and suggested that the stamp on Scott Parker was intentional and should have resulted in a red card.
“Having looked at it, I do [think he should have been sent off],” Redknapp said.
Video: Pepe Stamps On Lionel Messi’s Hand – Wayne Rooney Furious!
Real Madrid hard-nut Pepe was caught stamping on the hand of Lionel Messi during Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey Quarter-Final 1st leg.
The notoriously tough-tackling Brazilian, who has a disciplinary rap sheet longer than Mike Tyson, took advantage of a foul on the current World Player of The Year before cowardly stamping on his hand.
Reflecting on the incident Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney wrote on his official Twitter account: “Pepe. What an idiot. Sometimes people wind u up.”
An unperturbed Messi then set Eric Abidal up for the winner minutes later with ‘Wazza’ then writing: “Haha. That goal serves pepe right.”
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere also slammed Pepe’s actions as he wrote: “Poor from Pepe!”
Catch the disgraceful act above this coming from a player who clearly has been employed to break the legs of his unbanishable rivals.
Did I Just See That?! – Is This The Worst Miss Ever?
Let me paint you a picture: Qatar 2022 and the home nation, after extended pressure, find themselves clear through with the keeper beat. Then this happens….
Could this be the worst miss ever? Could Harry Redknapp’s Grandma score this? It’s difficult to say No to any of these questions. Let’s just hope that in 12 years time, Qatar get some better coaches. Or somehow build a nation of half decent footballer….or Robots. I’m still annoyed that I don’t own a hoverboard yet (If Matel can make them by 2015…I expect one now! ) Damn you Robert Zemeckis!
Video: Maynor Figueroa Handball Wigan 0-1 Manchester City
Wigan midfielder Maynor Figueroa sent Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini’s blood boiling after he inexplicably handled the ball thus denying Sergio Aguero and clear run on goal.
City were leading 1-0 at the time with just two minutes left on the clock before a hopeful punt up field by Nigel De Jong was about to set Aguero clean on goal…before Maynor Figueroa decided to test his basketball skills as an apoplectic Roberto Mancini waved for a, now common, imaginary red card.
Maynor, leave your handling skills on the court please!!!
Sepp Blatter Hip Dances With Shakira: Video
FIFA President Sepp Blatter got into the groove at the Ballon d’Or awards on Monday by performing a funky hip dance with ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ pop sensation Shakira.
Emerging from the back to present an award, Blatter instantly became the envy of the room when he rather salaciously performed a hip dance alongside Shakira.
Female On-lookers watched in embarrassment whilst men everywhere were filled with envy presumably wondering how a man who once said that female footballers should ‘sex-up’ their game by ‘wearing tighter shorts’ as part of their kit.
Who says bad guys come last?!
