The Full England squad to face Spain and then Sweden in a testing double dose of international friendlies was announced by Fabio Capello with some surprises in store:

Notable absentees include out of favour Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand who just this week was told by Sir Alex Ferguson that his first team spot at Old Trafford was far from certain.
Red Devils striker Wayne Rooney has also been left out with Three Lions coach Fabio Capello hoping to experiment without ‘Wazza’ who is set to miss the first three games of England’s Euro 2012 campaign.
Manchester City defender Micah Richards also misses out in what was perhaps a surprise exclusion.
The full squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers:
Scott Carson – Bursaspor
Joe Hart – Manchester City
David Stockdale – Ipswich Town
Defenders:
Leighton Baines – Everton
Gary Cahill – Bolton
Ashley Cole – Chelsea
Phil Jagielka – Everton
Glen Johnson – Liverpool
Phil Jones – Manchester United
Joleon Lescott – Manchester City
John Terry – Chelsea
Kyle Walker – Tottenham
England coach Fabio Capello has named his full 24-man-squad ahead of England’s decisive Euro 2012 qualifier with Montenegro on Friday, with former captain Rio Ferdinand being excluded from the list

Capello was at White Hart Lane watching the North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal and was seemingly impressed with man-of-the-match fullback Kyle Walker who received a surprise call up to the 24 man squad.
Fulham forward Bobby Zamora and Manchester United’s in-form attacker Danny Welbeck have also been included as have Manchester City duo Micah Richards and Adam Johnson along with Aston Villa forward Darren Bent.
The biggest casualty was Red Devils defender Rio Ferdinand. Ferdinand has been dogged by a spate of injuries of late but will at least be pleased with the inclusion of team-mate Phil Jones who received his first ever Three Lions call-up.
The Full England Squad to Face Montenegro is as Follows:
Goalkeepers
Scott Carson, Joe Hart, David Stockdale.
