Now if you are not familiar with how I approach transfer rumours (that i believe have some substance behind them) I show you how they will look in the destination clubs kit. Spotted on Goal earlier was the story that Arsenal are set to bid £7 million for Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins.

From a Newcastle United view it is a good thing selling Martins. He is one of the massive earners at St James’ on a contract worth reportedly over £70,000 a week so getting him off would be of great benefit. He only managed a return of eight goals last year so should hardly be considered a key player. Last season as I watched every Newcastle game he looked increasingly useless, all that he was good for is head down, burst of pace and then putting his foot through the ball. It didn’t fit what Newcastle needed and I rated Shola Ameobi higher last season and that is saying something.

For Arsenal, maybe he can fit their system but if I were Newcastle United I’d be packing his bags right now.
