The reason why Crouch won’t be moving to the North East

For the last few days it has looked almost certain that Crouchy was Sunderland bound. But it seems Peter has made a U-turn and will now ditch Bruce for a £12 million move to Fulham, but why the sudden change of heart?
Well the In the Stands team believe that his soon to be wifey, Abbey Clancy may have played a huge part in swaying his decision. She is known for not wearing too many clothes so a move to the chilling North east may not be something that appeals to her, and I’m sure she has made this clear to the England star.
This is not an unfamiliar occurrence for footballers and it appears to agree with what Roy Keane said a couple of years ago.
He said that,
“If people want to go somewhere else to another football club then fair enough, as long as it is for a footballing reason…It is not a football move, it is a lifestyle move and those are the type of people you don’t want at your club. It is not a problem for me but it is a fact…To me, that player is weak because his wife runs his life”
It is sad to see that a a player must sacrifice his game to please the retail and entertainment needs of his fiancee. Sunderland could have offered Crouch a stage in which he could rekindle his career, whereas a move to Craven Cottage would be a mere upgrade on the simple fact that they possess a European spot. It is a blow for Sunderland fans because he is a quality player.
I don’t blame Crouch, with a fiancée like that you would do everything in your power to keep her with you, especially when you look like this.
