11 Premiership players to look out for next season.

GK. Shay Given
Yes. He is better than Cech AND Reina.

DL. Kieran Gibbs
Could beat Clichy to the number one left back spot, looks like the next Ashley Cole but hopefully not as twatish.

DR. Glen Johnson
Has cemented his England place and will be looking to prove that outrageous 18.5million price tag.

DC. Thomas Vermaelen
Cost about the same price as that useless Argentine at Newcastle, but because Wenger signed him and not Dennis Wise i make him 58 times better.

DC. Sebastian Bassong
I’ve put this guy in here because I’m sure he won’t be at the Toon next season, well….who would?, he’s proved he can do a job and with a top class centre back as his partner he could turn into something special.

ML. Matty ‘2 Wondergoals’ Taylor
Scored 2 less goals than Fat Lampard last season, an excellent player.

MR. Theo Walcott
Although he lacks the mental side of the game his pace, attacking experience and ability to take on players is something not many players have, even if he did miss 4 sitters in the space of 10 minutes against Sweden in the U21 Euro Semi’s.

MC. Jack Rodwell
The next Gerrard, had a promising U21 Euro tournament, will Moyes give him the starts he needs?

MC. Mikel Arteta
Was having a great season until it was ended back in February, has never failed to impress me since his move to Everton.

S. Michael Owen
The facts do not lie and with the world cup just round the corner, Capello will be watching. On form this man is better than any and with a team as good as United’s, if he gets the games and most importantly avoids injury’s, he’s my tip for the golden boot.

S. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake
Championship player of the year, Goal of the year, and retaining the Championship golden boot, he’s definitely going to be in many fantasy league teams this year.

    What about Lee Cattermole?

  • Ben:

tbf, cech hasnt been a top quality keeper since his head injury, and although reina is a good shot stopper, he has still shown some dodgy moments this season. personally i think keepers like given and friedel are truly the best keepers in the premiership. I would say joe hart gonna be good next season but birmingham are probably going to concede numerous goals so he will look sh*t

  • cookie:

James Beattie not the most popular of choice. but did bag a few goals at the end of last season and can see him scoring a few more for Stoke and maybe making a name for himself once again next season to fingers crossed.

  • cookie:

ryan shawcross very good cb upcoming england u21 international!!?? may be it will be his season??

  • Mark:

James Beattie is definately a player that will be looking to get his career back on the rails, a great finish to the season, arguably the reason stoke stayed up.

  • cookie:

yer i agree. having etherington, and that monster ab faye in defence helped what we did to!! and as you say with beattie bangin em in was all good for stoke!!

  • Mark:

Not happy about fayes goals against newcastle, particulary with the way he celebrated.

  • Joe:

am v pleased u put ebanks-blake in there, powerful, fast, sound finisher
all the attributes u need… u got rodwell which is v good, but wheres gosling?? together they represent a very promisin future for everton!!

  • Alex's Brother:

Hang on! “Players to look out for next season: Mikel Arteta”?!? Well, yeah, he’s brilliant. Who else should we look out for? Fernando Torres? Nemanja Vidic?

Isn’t Arteta already a bit too good (and well known) to be on this list?

  • Ash:

Fair comment Ryan, but Mikel Arteta is a player still improving and it is no wander why europes elite are looking at him. He will no doubt have an outstanding season this year, and dont be surprised to see him in the team of the year, this time next year.

One player i think will be one to look out for is Wolves central midfielder Nenad Milijas.

  • Mark:

Arteta made the list to remind people hes class, he was only about for just over half of last season, my list wasnt there to outline the current best players in the league.
