Pottinger tackles… Henry loves Basketball
Right then, whilst I’m here I might as well sort this shit out.
First things first, I WANT the game to be replayed. Having said that it would be an absolute travesty if FIFA ordered a rematch of the game, as it would set an extremely dangerous precedent in football whereby the result on the pitch isn’t final. The problem is if you give an inch with something like this teams will take a mile. For example, now that games can theoretically have an ordered replay, what does Sir Alex do when Stoke get an obviously unjustified throw in which Delap lobs into the goal, losing Man Utd three points? There would be an awful sliding scale that could ruin the game. Alternatively I think France should offer a replay, so there are no proper channels for this to happen again.
Henry. Saying he’s a cheat is a frankly ridiculous thing to say. Of course he deliberately handballed it, but players make these stupid handballs all the time, and frankly it’s the referee’s job to notice it and stop it. There isn’t a single player in the world that wouldn’t have done that, and if they didn’t they’re fucking stupid. I’d be more worried with Henry if he didn’t do that in the box to get into the World Cup. The real disgrace here is the refereeing and why do we not have video refereeing? Hopefully this incident will prove to be a catalyst to introducing video technology, which is much needed.
There’s my two cents, hope you agree?

spot on mate you just can’t replay these matches even though morally it should be done. I just feel sorry for Mr Henry
The replay talk was ridiculous bring in the technology there is no real reason not to!
I read that FIFA ordered Uzbekistan and Bahrain to replay a World Cup qualifying match in 2005 because of a poor call by the ref. Didn’t ruin football. Replay the match tbh
great find ollie, ive changed my mind. replay the match
I think this was the first time i’ve ever seen Henry celebrate like he did, normally he acts like an arrogant wanker after scoring.
