Keegan to bankrupt Newcastle?..

Looks like the toon hero’s getting a bit greedy…

Kevin_Keegan_429292a

When Keegan left Newcastle back in September, it was expected the club would have to make a pay-out of around the £9m mark, hard enough to take. However, this morning The Daily Star are reporting that Keegan’s lawyers are claiming for loss of potential future earnings, claiming the whole episode has damaged his future employment prospects.

The Star claims Keegan wants more than double the original figure, reportedly £25m. Obviously Ashley could reach into his pockets, but with his current situation with the club, it’s thought he would prefer to put them into administration, and this worst-case scenario, the promotion-chasing team would incur an automatic 10-point deduction.

I can’t believe he would think of doing this. it was cowardly to walk away from the club since he means so much to the club and should have just stuck it out. i would disown him as a geordie hero if this is true.

Don’t want to speculate on his motivation but he does seem keen to have his day in court.
