What to watch this weekend…

Here is our pick of the fixtures for the weekend coming…

EXPLOS

Sheffield United vs Sheffield Wednesday – Friday Night
The famous steel city derby is sure to be a tense and exciting affair. Wednesday did the double over United last year for the first time in ninety-something years and Kevin Blackwell’s boys will be looking to avenge that. I will definitely be tuning into this one but don’t expect to find silky football on show her. Proper gritty Yorkshire stuff here…

Manchester United vs Manchester City – Sunday Afternoon
Following their victory over Arsenal, City are beginning to look like real contenders for the top 4. Should be a very interesting match this one, but City are light up top so it should be United’s game…

Chelsea vs Tottenham – Sunday Afternoon
It’s Ancelotti’s first real test as Chelsea boss in the League. I can see Harry Redknapp’s men giving Chelsea a good game as they continue to press to break into the top 4. Ancelotti said midweek he felt his team looked tired against Porto but he will be hoping they give a better account on Sunday or else Spurs will punish them. I can see Chelsea dropping points here so that will be worth a flutter…

Barcelona v Atletico Madrid – Saturday Night
Barca used to struggle against Atletico but with the strength of their team now this match should be a roll over especially considering Madrid’s injury woes. However don’t be surprised to see this a lot closer than expected as Atletico try to make amends for their poor midweek score…

Schalke 04 vs Wolfsburg – Friday Night
The German Champions visit their old manager who brought them the Bundesliga crown at his new club Schalke. This should be an interesting game as Felix Magath’s team are pushing for the Champions League spots and Wolfsburg have already lose three this year…

Feyonoord vs PSV – Sunday Afternoon
The joint leaders of the Eredivisie clash in Rotterdam on Sunday and it should be a tense and interesting match. Both teams will be hoping for the win to keep Ajax and super Schhhhteves FC Twente at bay…

PSG vs Lyon – Sunday Night
Both these side are challenging for Ligue 1 and with PSG having two wins out of two at home this will be a tough match for Lyon. They didn’t win the league for the time in 8 years last year and so they will be looking to prove that they can pick off major challengers this time around and come home with the trophy come May…
