Mourinho is at it again
Internazionale manager has launched a scathing attack against Marcello Lippi after comments made by the national team coach.
Mourinho has had a torrid time with the Italian press since being announced as the Internazionale manager in June 2008. After managing Chelsea in England where the press are more laid back and managers freely speak their thoughts, Mourinho was surprised by the difference in attitudes.
In a press conference in March this year, he declared that his two main contenders would win no titles that season, which angered many of the managers and clubs in Italy. He has continuously complained about the journalists naming them such things as intellectual prostitutes.
Now, Mourinho has complained at the comments made by Marcello Lippi. A few days prior to Mourinho’s press conference, Lippi predicted that Juventus would win Serie A this season which has angered Mourinho no end. In the press conference, Mourinho complained that a national manager should never pick who they think will win. Mourinho believes it will have a detrimental effect upon other teams such as Inter especially on the Italian players within his squad.
Lippi has since explained that it was just a simple prediction and his own opinion. Unlike Mourinho, he did not think it would effect anyone. In my opinion, Mourinho has grossly overexaggerated the situation but it will be interesting to see how the Serie A begins and where Inter and Juve finish.
