Top 10 of the week – Fantasy Football players

For this weeks top 10, I thought I would look at a few players that might be worth adding to your Fantasy Football team this season. I have left out the obvious; Vidic, Ferdinand, Rooney, Drogba, Gerrard, Lampard, Torres, Reina and Cech and instead given you some players you can get a little cheaper. So here it goes (In not particular order)…
Quite simply the key to survival is goals and Sylvan can score them. He was the championships top scorer last season and I’m sure their not going to dry up now that he is in the Premiership. He may just be one of the bargains of the Fantasy football season.
Wayne will look to play every match in this year’s campaign, which alone will get you lots of points. The England international will also score you points for assists and may have a goal or two in him.
Matty scored 10 goals for Bolton last season, which is a fantastic return for a midfielder at a mid-table team. Will he emulate this success this year? –it’s worth a punt, especially as the boy will also get quite a few assists to add to his goals throughout the season.
Most fantasy football games consider Warnock as a defender, but he is equality apt at slotting into midfield (as seen last season) He’s a player who gets forward, gets assists and scores a goal every now and then.
The Arsenal midfielder looked deadly against Everton at the weekend, racking in points for his 2 goals and 1 assist. He is slightly cheaper that Lampard and Gerrard which will free up an extra 2 million or so to bolster your strike force.
The Norwegian international was the key man for Fulham last season, in a defence that leaked a mere 34 goals. Ok, so it will be harder for them this season – especially as teams will go to Craven Cottage with more respect this time round. But he’s still a poor mans Vidic and a great addition to your side.
Rob has every chance this season to prove himself as England’s number one keeper. Although West Ham don’t have the strongest of defences, saves can also mean points and Green makes a lot of them – he is a fantastic shot stopper and he has a point to prove.
Big Sam is famous for building a solid defence and I’m sure he will be revolving this around Samba this season. But it’s not just his defensive qualities that makes him a worth fantasy football addition, no; it’s the fact he gets forward whenever possible to make a nuisance of himself. A flick on here, and a rebound there and Samba may start to rack up the points.
With the world Cup around the corner Mark will look to push for a spot in Capello’s squad. He takes set pieces – so you’re likely to get assists. He takes penalties – so he’s going to get goals, and he’s got a good shot on him – as seen at the weekend – but most importantly he’s cheap.
When Redknapp first watched Tottenham in training he pointed out straight away that Modric has the potential to be one of the best players he’s ever worked with. To add to this Bilic has also said that he is better than Kaka. Ok, maybe not, but he is certainly a hugely talented player improving day by day as he adjusts to the premiership. He is cheaper than the big boys but should still be among them.
Others to consider – Tim Cahill, James Milner, Garry Cahill, Nenad Milijaš, Clint Demsey, Ryan Shawcross, Mark Schwarzer, James Beattie, Eduardo

Got quite a few of them and I’m very interested in Ebanks Blake. James Beattie would be up there for me as well along with Rory Delap, both integral to Stoke who are class at home.
Cesc got 2 goals and 2 assists, I feel I must point it out because I love the man.
